Allenhurst, Shrewsbury, and other points at the New Jersey Shore,
from the Air

This is my world, from 1500 ft!

After my buddy Frank made a wrong turn on his way to Allenhurst - getting some pretty good pictures of Asbury Park as a result - I suggested to him that he bring me along for his next aerial excursion, so he doesn't get lost again. :) These are the pictures that we took on November 7, 2003.

These first dozen or so shots are various views of Allenhurst, my home town. My home, the town beach club, and a few other landmarks are visible in many of the photos.

My block is centered in the following photo. Look for my neighbor's red roof towards the right of the block, then look for my landlord's home immediately to the left of that. I'm in the built-up carraige house in the back of my landlord's white house.

The Meyers Center, part of U.S Army Fort Monmouth, where my former office-mate, Jim, recently went to work.

And a few shots of my office, the New Jersey operation for Xacta Corporation, and my old office:

That's me on the left, and Frank chuckling to himself about what he's about to subject me to...

"Here, Jim, hold this!" Thanks alot, Frank! The last time I "flew" a plane was when Microsoft Flight Simulator ran on my original IBM PC!

Regardless, I didn't plant the nose in Belmar, below, or anywhere else along the coast. He let me fly south until he muttered something about "flying on fumes... ten minutes." :) Then he took over and we made a bee-line back to Lakewood Airport. But Frank did get some cool pictures while I was panicing - er, I mean, piloting the aircraft.

The fact is that I'm not sure of where most of these were taken, except the Belmar shot immediately below. If anyone recognizes any of these scenes, please drop me a line.
